Its history and scenic beauty are two advantages that make shooting wedding photography in Chautauqua County a thrill.
If you think about it, there are so many places to shoot, but these three locations combine the best in history, aesthetic design and natural beauty.
Athenaeum Hotel – There’s no doubt one of the most elegant and historic places to shoot wedding photos in Chautauqua County are at the Athenaeum Hotel. If you’re having your wedding on the grounds at the Chautauqua Institution, it’s a no-brainer that wedding photos will be taken in front of this hotel that’s hosted presidents and world dignitaries. Its façade makes a postcard itself, now just picture your wedding party in front. The grounds and facilities are a National Historic Landmark. Not a lot of people can say their wedding was shot at a place as unique as the Athenaeum Hotel.
Miller Bell Tower – Also residing on the grounds of the Chautauqua Institution, the Miller Bell Tower is located right on Lake Chautauqua and its peak makes the logo for the Chautauqua Institute. Now, taking a wedding photo standing directly in front of the 69-foot tower would prove meaningless, because you couldn’t capture the whole structure. But from across the lake, that’s where you can capture tower in its magnificence.

hautauqua Lake – Is there a prettier backdrop on a summer’s day than Chautauqua Lake? With its blue waters lined with brilliant green trees, sometimes there’s no better backdrop in Western New York for a bride and groom or an entire wedding party. Look at the couple on the right. Sitting on the dock on their sunny wedding day – there was no better feeling in the world for them.
